Story

Baadshah aka Rama Rao (NTR) is the son of Ranjan (Mukesh Rishi), who works for mafia don Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorji) operating in Macau. However, Baadshah’s aggression and brilliance puts him in clash with Saadhu Bhai, who decides to finish off the former and his family with the help of Crazy Robert (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Violent Victor (Pradeep Rawat). Also Saadhu Bhai plans few attacks on major cities in India and Baadshah in order to halt the happenings takes the help of Janaki (Kajal), daughter of Police commissioner Jai Krishna Simha (Nasser). In this process, other twists of Baadshah get unfolded, which is to be watched on big-screens.

Performances

NTR looked quite distinct and stylish in the film. He has essayed different shades in the character inclusing action, romance, comedy and family bonding scenes. NTR dances are amazing in Sairo Sairo and Rangoli Rangoli while he has some cool moves in Diamond girl. His comic timing is awesome and Baadshah would be a feast to his fans as he steps into Justice Chowdary role and he also shakes leg for medley of Sr.NTR’s songs.

Kajal Agarwal is glamorous sporting cool outfits as Janaki entertaining with her distinct one-liners on society. Her scenes with NTR in the first half are refreshing and she looked too good in Banthi Poola Janaki, Diamond girl songs.

Among the other cast Brahmanandam steals the show in the second half as Inspector Padmanabha Simha and he along with NTR and rocked the screens, Nasser gets another hilarious role. MS Narayana and Vennela Kishore bring laughs in the first half.

Jaya Prakash Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh are wasted, Kelly Dorjee is okay while Navadeep is impressive and Siddharth does a crucial cameo. Mahesh’s voiceover needs a special mention. Others did their bit required.

Technical Analysis

Cinematography is lavish and the entire film looked colorful. Songs are beautifully captured in the foreign locations. Thaman provided tunes are ear-pleasing and has the scope for NTR’s dances while the background score is loud at times. Dialogues are punchy and hilarious and screenplay is racy in the second half. Editing could have been crisp in the first half. Srinu Vytla yet again scores with entertainment. Parameswara Arts production values are lavish.

Analysis

The story isn’t new to Tollywood audiences also it has references to Srinu Vytla’s earlier movies. But just like Srinu Vytla’s films, Baadshah is also packed with loads of entertainment.

One-liners like ‘Pitch Needaina match nadi’, ‘Bhayapade Vaadu Baanisa Bhayapette Vaadu Baadshah’ are entertaining in the film and strikes chords, and Kajal dialogues on society and converting lazy people to achievers are hilarious.

The first half of the film moves with characters introductions and refreshing NTR-Kajal’s scenes along with MS Narayana, Vennela Kishore comedy, but the flashback scenes drops the pace. The second half initially gets slow, but with Brahmanandam’s entry the movie picks the momentum and the entertainment quotient impresses you. Brahmanandam steals the show with his antics and Inception backdrop. On the flip side, the emotional scenes could have been gripping and the long fights could have been reduced for the fast pace during interval.

NTR has rocked the screens in Justice Chowdary getup and Sangeet scenes dancing for Sr.NTR super hit tracks which would be a feast to all Tarak’s fans. Like all Srinu Vytla’s films, Baadshah has numerous casts, and delivers loads of laughs with clean entertainment.

Final Verdict

Baadshah – Paisa Vasool Entertainer… & A Good treat for family audiences!!!
