'Iddarammayilato' Full Movie Review: Pain In Spain!!

WWW.Die4Movies.Com Rating: 2.5/5
Banner: Parameswara Art Productions
Cast: Allu Arjun, Amala Paul, Katherine Teresa, Shawar Ali, Brahmanandam, Ali, Ravu Ramesh, Nasser, Pragathi, Tulasi, Tanikella Bharani, Subbaraju and others
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Cinematographer: Amol Rathod
Editor: S R Sekkhar
Story, dialogues, screenplay, direction: Puri Jagannadh

Producer :- Bandla Ganesh
Release date: 31/05/2013
Scoring a hit with ‘Julayi’ Allu Arjun teamed up with Puri Jagannadh to repeat the ‘Desamuduru’ success. Whether this combo has been able to generate success or not let us see

Story
One boy (Allu Arjun) two girls (Amala, Katherine), a twist before interval and another twist before climax, that is the story. To be more detailed, Sanju (Allu Arjun) and Komali (Amala Paul) fall in love with each other. Their love story is discovered in a diary by Akanksha (Katherine) and she follows Sanju. She discovers a truth suddenly. She tries to get close to Sanju. Then suddenly she discovers another truth. That’s how the story goes.
Performances
If anyone has doubts on why Allu Arjun is called Stylish Star that should get cleared with this flick. His styling is superb and looks very handsome. He has performed well in emotional sequences. His expressions during fight before interval was exceptional. His dance was good in ‘Top Lechipoddi’.
Amala Paul’s makeup was a problem, it looked more on her dusky complexion. Performance wise she was okay.
Katherine ‘over’worked as if she wanted to gain fame for ten films through one film. Of course, one cannot take his eyes off her toned thighs and oomph factor.

Brahmi’s comedy was a flop, his scenes in combination with Ali were irritating. The rest of the cast did their bits as required and didn’t have anything special to offer.
Highlights
  • Interval fight scene
  • Allu Arjun
  • Music
  • Production values
Drawbacks
  • Brahmi-Ali comedy track
  • Second half
Analysis
Somewhat incomplete, somewhere dissatisfaction…some emptiness…that’s the feel of ‘Iddaramayilatho’.
The visuals are great and so are the making values. Songs and fights are also good. Hero carrying the film on his shoulders is seen but overall the film doesn’t satisfy. The reason for that is weak script, there is no strength in the subject.
One love story is linked to one lakh crore scam and the action, romance is not in sync. Even the link (video camera) that connects them is also weak. Just because there are two twists in the story the makers thought they could shape up the rest as per their whims and fancies.

Puri made the film as though no one should question what he is doing. Agreed it is a cinema but that doesn’t mean logic is totally discarded. Cinematic liberties were used without mercy. There are many silly scenes. No smiles come for comedy, no feel in romance scenes, no excitement in action scenes, no impact in emotional scenes. The film starts flat, picks up speed before interval and then drops back to flat pace. The Brahmi-Ali comedy track in second half is utter waste. Here are few points that one can learn by watching the film.
How to wake up a patient in coma? By dousing his hand with kerosene or spirit and light it up. With that heat, the patient will wake up immediately (doctors can try this from now on)
If someone gives you 1 lakh crores where should you hide it? Somewhere far on top of a mountain, build a woodhouse and below that wood you must hide it (This is a good idea for those who have black money and struggling).
When someone is stabbed deeply inside the stomach they will only faint, life will not be in danger. After taking rest for few days everything will be alright.
If body is injured completely with pen knife and stabbed inside throat what happens? Don’t worry, it is risk free, life will be safe, only the person will go into coma (and you already know how to bring a person out of coma).
If such logical blunders are to be written this page will not be sufficient. Since it is a cinema why such critical observations you might think but in a film where there is a star hero and star director, conceiving such silly scenes will never convince the audience in any sense.

Since the film came with a hype and has a noted star, secondly, since the songs and fights are watchable those who want to watch them can go otherwise there is nothing in this film.
In cinema parameters, this is a below average to average stuff. We have to see how it encashes the summer advantage and solo release bonus.
Bottomline: Top Levaledhu!!

Review : Sukumarudu – Sukumaramaina Torture

Release date : 10 May 2013
www.Die4Movies.Com Rating : 1.5/5
Director : G. Ashok
Producer : K. Venugopal
Music Director :Anoop Rubens
Starring : Aadi, Nisha Aggarwal, Ghattamaneni Krishna

Dialogue King Sai Kumar’s son ‘Aadi’ is all set to hit the screens with ‘Sukumarudu’. The movie is releasing today across the world and it has Nisha Aggarwal as the female lead opposite Aadi. Superstar Krishna and veteran actress Sharada will be seen in crucial roles inthis movie. G.Ashok has directed this film and Venugopal is the producer. Let us see how this movie is.
Story :
The story of this film is similar to the recently released ‘Greeku Veerudu’. A selfish NRI who does not care about his relatives back in India, suddenly decides to come and seek their blessings once property comes into the equation.
Sukumar (Aadi) is a selfish and extremely money minded young fellow who is very successful in life. He however needs some urgent cash to kickstart his dream project. At precisely this point, he comes to know that an inheritance worth 150Crores is waiting for him in his village.
He decides to travel to the village and meet his grandmother Vandanamma (Sharada), a slightly cranky old lady who is revered by the villagers. Sukumar tries to emotionally blackmail her for the property.
But his plans keep getting thwarted by history, his uncle Rao Ramesh and others. A romantic track with Sankari (Nisha Aggarwal) also comes in during this time.
Will Sukumar succeed in his plans or will his evil schemes be detected by the villagers? That forms the story.
Plus Points:
Superstar Krishna garu has a neat and dignified presence, even if it is only for a few minutes. Veteran actress Sharada has done a nice job.
Rao Ramesh has tried his best to make things interesting. Aadi is ok in the dances and fightsdepartment, but he needs to really improve fast in portraying emotions.
Minus Points :
Screenplay of this movie is terrible. There is no logical flow in the proceedings and the whole film has a very jerky feel to it. The director has attempted to tackle various themes in the film – father and son sentiment, grandmother and grandson sentiment, a clever NRI coming back to reform his village etc. The problem is, none of the themes have been tackled properly.
There are gaping loopholes in the plot and many sequences have absolutely no logic. There is excessive melodrama and needless over action in emotional scenes.
The film is way too long. At a few minutes less than 3 hours, the length becomes unbearable when there is basically no story to narrate.
The comedy tracks fail to work as the writing is cliched and very poor. Despite the presence of so many talented comedy actors, the loud sequences end up irritating viewers.
The romantic track between Aadi and Nisha Aggarwal is very superficial and incomplete. Their screen chemistry is not very good.
The placement of songs is very poor and they act as major speed breakers.
Technical Aspects:
Cinematography of the film is quite mediocre. Editing is atrocious and as I said before, the film has a very jerky feel to it. Dialogues are very average.
Ashok Kumar’s direction is quite poor and leaves a lot to be desired. Production values are mediocre.
Anoop Rubens has provided ok music but the background score is too loud, like the rest of the film.
Verdict:
Sukumarudu is a film that is painfully long and poorly made. You can safely avoid the film, unless you want to experience Sukumaramaina torture

Review : Tadakha – Mass Entertainer

Release date : 10 May 2013
www.Die4Movies.Com Rating :3.25/5
Director : Kishore Kumar Pardasani
Producer : Bellamkonda Ganesh
Music Director : S.Thaman
Starring : Naga Chaitanya, Sunil, Tamannaah, Andrea Jeremiah

Yuvasamrat Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sunil have teamed up for the mass entertainer ‘Tadakha’. The movie has been directed by Dolly and Bellamkonda Suresh is the producer. Thaman has composed the music. Tamanna and Andrea Jeremiah have essayed the lead roles opposite Chaitanya and Sunil. The movie has released today across the world, so let us see how it is.
Story :
Sivarama Krishna (Sunil) and Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) are brothers. Sivarama Krishna is a timid and sensitive guy while Karthik is a street smart guy who is tough and brave. Their father (Naga Babu) is a police officer and he expires while on the job. The Police Departmentoffers this job to Sivarama Krishna and Karthik forces him to accept it.
As soon as a nervous Sivarama Krishna joins the force, he is forced to take on the evil Bagga (Ashutosh Rana). Bagga is a notorious criminal and smuggler who terrorises the city. With the help of Karthik, Sivarama Krishna deals a blow to Bagga’s operations. This infuriates the bad boy and he vows to take revenge on the brothers.
While this is on, Sivarama Krishna happens to get married to Nandu(Andrea Jeremiah). Pallavi (Tamanna) is her sister and she falls in love with Karthik. A romance blossoms between the two.
Bagga manages to deal a blow to the brothers and Sivarama Krishna is now forced to shed his timidity to transform himself into a tough cop. How does he do that? How does Karthik help his brother? Will they succeed in defeating Bagga? That forms the story

Plus Points :
Naga Chaitanya looks very stylish in the film. His new hairstyle suits him quite well. He has improved as an actor with this movie. Chaitanya has managed to do a good job in the fight sequences. Tamanna looks ultra hot in the ‘Maaraa Maaraa’ song and she shares greatchemistry with Chaitanya. The romantic scenes involving these two have come out quite well.

Sunil is a major asset for the film. In the first half, he entertains with his comedy. After the transformation, he excels in the role of a police officer and he steals the show towards the end. Andrea Jeremiah looks ok but she does not have anything to do in this film.
Ashutosh Rana delivers a very convincing performance as the evil Bagga. Brahmanandam and Vennela Kishore entertain to a certain extent. Director Dolly has done a good job in terms of balancing both Chaitanya and Sunil. Heroism has been elevated well for both Chaitanya and Sunil. Raghu Babu, Rama Prabha and Jayaprakash Reddy are ok.
The film’s first half is very entertaining. There is good pace, solid emotional depth and some really well shot sequences. Comedy quotient has been maintained well throughout the film. The emotional bond between the brothers has been established well and that lays a solid foundation for the film’s climax.
Minus Points :
The pace of the film dips a bit in the second half. Poor placement of songs and mediocre music hamper the flow to a certain extent. Entertainment levels are not as high as in the first half.

There is virtually no romance between Sunil and Andrea and it would have been good to see some nice moments between the two. The transformation of Sunil from a timid guy into a tough cop is a little too cinematic.
There are too many fights in the film. One or two can easily be chopped off. There is a scene where Naga Chaitanya runs and overtakes a speeding train. This scene is a little too much, even for mass masala entertainers.
For those who have seen the original film ‘Vettai’, this movie will not be as engaging or entertaining.

Highlights
  • Chaitanya, Sunil
  • Action episodes
  • Screenplay
Drawbacks
  • Songs
  • Comedy
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography of the film is decent. Editing is neat. Dialogues have been written well and they work effectively. Thaman’s background score is effective in some areas but it is a bit too loud in other places.
Dolly has done a neat job as a director. He has balanced Sunil and Chaitanya well.
Verdict :
‘Tadakha’ is a mass entertainer. The movie’s first half has good entertainment levels and moves along well. Chaitanya, Sunil and Tamanna have delivered good performances. A below par second half and some mediocre music bring down the overall experience. Overall, ‘Tadakha’ makes for a decent summer watch.

Review : Greeku Veerudu – Pleasing Family Entertainer

Release date :
 03 May 2013
Die4Movies.Com Rating : 3/5
Director : Kondapalli Dasaradh Kumar
Producer : D Siva Prasad Reddy
Music Director : S. Thaman
Starring : Nagarjuna, Nayantara, Meera Chopra

‘King’ Akkineni Nagarjuna’s ‘Greeku Veerudu’ has released across the world today. The movie has been directed by Dasaradh and Siva Prasad Reddy has produced it on Kamakshi Movies banner. The film has Nagarjuna and Nayanathara in the lead roles. Music has been composed by Thaman. Let us see how the film is.
Story :
Chandu (Nagarjuna) is a selfish NRI event manager. He believes in enjoying life, without any commitments and attachments. After the failure of an event, he is dragged to court by PR (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Chandu ends up with a massive fine on his hands.
At this point, he comes to know about his family fortune in India, which is about a 1000 Crores. Chandu does not have any ties with his relatives, so he decides to go to India and win them over for his selfish reasons. His grandfather Ramakrishna Prasad (Vishwanadh) welcomes him with open arms and grows fond of him.
On the journey to India, he runs into Sandhya (Nayanatara), who works for the ‘Make a Wish’ foundation. He develops feelings for her and Sandhya also reciprocates. To appease his family, Chandu requests Sandhya to act as his wife, to which she obliges.
But things unravel once Chandu’s motives become known. What will he do in these circumstances? Will he change as a person? Will he win back the love of his grandfather? That forms the story of ‘Greeku Veerudu’.
Plus Points :
Nagarjuna looks stylish and suave in the role of Chandu. His costumes are superb, as always. He has tried his hand at dances in this film and he has done a good job in the ‘I hate lovestories’ song. Nayanathara looks quite beautiful in the film and her costumes are very nice. The screen chemistry between these two actors is quite nice to watch.
Veteran actor K. Vishwanadh has done a neat job in the film. The scenes between Nagarjunaand Vishwanadh have come out well. Character actress Sudha has a few vital scenes and she has done justice to her role.Kota Srinivasa Rao, Bannerjee and Ashish Vidhyardhi are ok. Brahmanandmam entertains in a few sequences.
A clean family drama is at the heart of this film and that will be appreciated by middle aged people and women. The first half is largely decent and just before the interval, the emotional quotient gets a sudden boost.
Towards the end, M.S.Narayana,Vennela Kishore and Brahmanandam succeed in creating a brief confusion comedy of sorts.
Highlights
  • Nag-Nayan screen chemistry
  • Screenplay
  • Story
  • Music

Minus Points :
The pace of the film is quite slow. Screenplay is not upto the mark and the plot keeps wandering all over the place in the second half. There are some loopholes in the plot.
Graphics work is quite bad. The makers have gone in for matte shots to simulate USA and other foreign locales and these scenes are an eyesore. In fact, these bad visuals end up making people irritated and this spoils the overall viewing experience.
The second half has some bad comedy. The episode in the amusement park, whereNagarjuna tries to fulfil a young kid’s last dream, is quite badly executed. A mindless episode involving Brahmanandam and some dogs is best forgotten.
The marriage drama sequence between Nagarjuna and Nayanathara is quite silly.Venu Madhav, Srinivas Reddy and Dharamavarapu Subrahmanyam are wasted.
Drawbacks
  • Graphics
  • Slow Pace

Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is quite bad and it is a major letdown. Editing could have been better in the second half. Thaman’s background music is ok. Dialogues are ok in a few places but they could have been better.
Dasaradh has succeeded in getting the emotional moments right. But he should have paid more attention to the comedy scenes and the romantic track.
Verdict :
Greeku Veerudu is a clean family drama. The film has some good emotional moments and fine performances from Nagarjuna, Nayanathara and Vishwanadh. Poor CG shots, slow pace and some cliched moments spoil the experience to a certain extent. Overall, this is a movie that will appeal more to older sections of the audience.

20 Cr Loss For 'Baadshah'?

From the time it released, the film ‘Baadshah’ was being projected as the big summer blockbuster. If one were to go by producer Bandla Ganesh’s words, the film was being compared with other big wins like ‘Magadheera’ ‘Dookudu’ etc. Well, it looks like all that was an eyewash if the latest reports are to be believed.
According to some reliable information, it is heard that ‘Baadshah’ has actually suffered a loss of Rs 20 crores. Buzz is that even Bandla Ganesh has sold it at a table loss of Rs 5 crores and the exhibitors and distributors faced the maximum damage. Also, Nithiin’s release ‘GJG’ added to the damage by getting a super hit response.
In order to compensate for that, Ganesh has reportedly gave word that he would sell his next ‘Iddaramayilatho’ at lesser price. But what if this one also flunks at the box office? Some of the cine folks are commenting will Ganesh produce one more film to compensate? Nobody is sure what calculations these folks are making.
